I no longer have a consistent or reliable internet connection and so I'm gonna have to pass on the new game. this sucks, but i would rather not hold up the process by only being able to update every couple days or so; plus with my returning to school, I kinda want to give myself some "space". Okay so the consensus, speaking to you all in real life and on here, is that we should start over.
my proposal:
Eberron campaign set on the uncharted continent of Xen'drik. Your task is to come up with a character concept based (as loosely as you like) on the archetypes that can be found [here.] The only thing that i ask is that your concept and background include the idea that your characters are currently 'down on their luck.'
We will be using the ['Standard Point Buy'] for establishing ability scores and the same [SSA-X2 Character Sheets]. so if you feel antsy to make a character then feel free. I will post the prologue on a new site later this month and then e-mail all of you with the password to join at that time.
Also there will be a new requirement: a Meebo account. Meebo is free and will host the new chat room. It has a video function and i imagine having a bi-weekly online meeting/movie night. more information on this to come.
Please feel free to use this site in the meantime to discuss the new campaign. Question, comments, and criticisms would be GREATLY appreciated.

Okay. So maybe i should start? I think i dropped the ball by not introducing the villains untill the second scene. this is such a slow moving medium that unless there is a clear antagonist you will naturally make antagonists of each other. Also, what would have made a good first adventure around the table does not translate too well to the first adventure as what would have taken 20-40 minutes ended up taking the better part of a month. I knew it would be slow going, i just need a better mix of action and RP in the future.
if i had my druthers i would start over. i have some ideas for an eberron campaign that will be more exploration/action based. I think now that maybe the cop drama, while exciting in the table-top format, is too slow paced for this medium.

NIck's Bachelor party is this sunday. It is technically over at 10ish so we could play afterwards, but i hope to be completely drunk, so i'd prefer if we could play earlier this week. Steve would be free for a late night game on saturday starting around 11 or 12. is that cool with everyone else? if not when? i really want to play this week as i would hate for us to lose the momentum so soon after starting.

So, everyone's sudden disappearance makes it clear that something has changed in our feelings about what is happening in this game. i have tried to be a little more hands off in this scene and leave it to everyone to discuss IC what is going on, and advance the plot, but little has happened for nearly 2 weeks now,
are we bored with the scene? the game in general? where this plot is going?
please tell me, and don't pull any punches, how you are feeling about this thing we are doing? If you don't have the time or the inclination to play then please say so, and i can begin recruiting for a replacement. If the plot, or the game is becoming boring we can try something new.
maybe this could be the alpha version of this idea, and we start over with the beta, now that we all have a better idea how we want this thing to work. just lemme know what you are thinking.
